Are Invicta Watches Good? The Complete Invicta Watch Review

Are you looking for a stylish watch but don’t have the money to get one? Good stylish and feature-enabled watches often cost lots of money. These watches are often not available to customers who don’t have the cash to spend.

Brands like Invicta produce feature-packed stylish watches at very affordable price points. If you are considering Invicta watches, there’s one question that comes to mind. Are Invicta watches good?

This is a complete guide on Invicta watches. In this article, you’d be able to spot where Invicta draws its strength and where the brand is lacking.

All About Invicta

An Invicta store

Where are Invicta watches made?

Invicta’s creative journey started as far back as 1837 with a Swiss watchmaker. Founded by Raphael Picard and family, this devoted company made quality mechanical watches.

The company enjoyed years of success until the quartz crisis hit the Swiss watchmaking industry in the early 1970s.

With the introduction of cheaper quartz timepieces during the quartz revolution, companies that focused on precision mechanical watches lost their market share.

During this revolution, Invicta had a painful setback that took them roughly a decade to bounce back. During those years of setback, U.S based investors bought the company.

Why are Invicta watches so cheap?

To reflect the shift in the watch industry after the quartz revolution, Invicta changed its mission statement. The new owners came in with a new mission: To continue making quality watches at very affordable prices.

To keep its mission alive, Invicta outsources its watch movements. Well-established companies like Seiko, Miyota, Seagul, etc made the parts. Also, they source out most of the watch parts from China.

What this means is you can enjoy the same quality watches at marked down prices. Some of these watches sell below the $100 mark with standard warranties up to 3 years.

Is Invicta Swiss made?

Though Invicta has a rich Swiss background, not all its watches are Swiss-made watches. To keep its timepieces cheap, many Invicta watches use Japanese quartz movements.

Yet, to keep making watches for the Swiss market, Invicta continues to push out some Swiss-Made watches. Among these is its Pro-Diver model which I’ll shed more light on later.[the_ad id=”1435″]

Review of Invicta Watches (Collections)

Some Invicta collections

Narrowing down your choice to get the best Invicta watch can be a daunting task. The good news is Invicta watches fall into distinguishable collections. Below are some of the most prominent collections.

Invicta Speedway Collection

If you are like me with a busy lifestyle, the Speedway collection will fit your outfit. The timepieces in this collection are sporty, classy, and expensive looking. They compliment any business or casual attire.

On the feature side, an Invicta watch in this collection comes with three chronograph subdials to measure time down to 1/60 of a second. Hence you can use them for accurate timekeeping.

To help you read time in the dark, Invicta also coats the hands with a luminous substance. You can wear them under any weather condition since they are water-resistant up to 200 meters.

To match your outfits, most of the timepieces in this collection are stainless steel watches with tachymeter bezels.

Invicta Pro-Diver Collection

For starters, the Invicta Pro-Diver collection is a great place to begin your Invicta journey. If you want to try out Invicta, this is the collection you need to begin with. It is Invicta’s most popular collection.

In this collection, you have the option of Swiss automatic and Japanese quartz movements.

As the name suggests, watches in this collection come with unidirectional bezels. A noticeable feature in dive watches.

They are also water-resistant up to 200 meters. Also, these are luminous watches, enabling you to read the dial underwater.

Invicta watches in this collection also featured in my article on dive watches under $500.

Invicta Aviator Collection

Built with aviators in mind, these watches come with large dials for extra features. Some wearing up to 48mm in diameter.

For those with small wrists, these large dials are overwhelming, but I have covered some watches for small wrists. You can check them out here.

Some features of these timepieces include a tachymeter bezel for speed calculations. There’s also a compass for navigation, chronograph subdials for accurate timekeeping.

They are also water-resistant up to 100 meters. Some models have scratch-resistant sapphire crystals.

Invicta DNA Collection

Invicta’s DNA collection is all about performance and uniqueness. The models in this collection have a taste of uniqueness in them. The watches are impressive and the designs are second to none.

To ensure accurate timekeeping, these DNA models feature the Swiss quartz movement.

Though not designed for diving, these timepieces are water-resistant and have easy-to-read dials. Most of these watches come with silicone bands and mineral crystals.

Invicta Women Watches (Angel Collection)

While Invicta has a large variety of watches for men, there are still some outstanding models for women. These Invicta watches for women have Swiss movement, a broad range of designs. These timepieces offer the same performance and accuracy as men’s watches.

Invicta Reserve Collection

The reserve collection is another Invicta collection with a unique design. If you have an exquisite taste for watches, you’d love this watch collection.

The timepieces in the collection are handmade. This means in this collection, Invicta puts special care into producing each Invicta watch.

Because they are handmade, Invicta produces only a few of these timepieces per year. The models in this collection are water resistant though they are not suitable for deep diving.

3 Domains where Invicta watches triumph

Attractive Design

Invicta dedicates enough resources to produce attractive watches that’ll please their customer base. Among their collections and models, there are watches that’ll please just about anyone.

The company has also gone all out to get licensing deals with much-loved brands like DC Comics. With these deals, they produce watches tailored to such brands as this one.

Affordable

Invicta is popular because of its cheap watches. A large range of their watches sells below the $100 dollar mark. If you want a backup watch in your collection, an Invicta watch will fill that gap for you.

Though Invicta makes expensive watches like this Russian diver, most of their watches are affordable to those using the brand for the first time.

Features

What makes Invicta a go-to brand is the prominent features they offer on their watches at affordable rates.

While it’s normal that features go with the price of the watch, this company has taken a unique approach. You’d find good Invicta timepieces packed with features at sub-$100 price range.

An example of such a watch is Invicta’s popular Pro-Diver 8926. It comes with a Japanese automatic movement, a stainless steel bracelet, a fluted crown, a 200-meter water resistance rating, and a unidirectional bezel. All these below $100.

3 Setbacks of Invicta watches

Warranty Program

Invicta offers a 3-5 years warranty policy on their watches. On the surface, this may be a good deal. But, this warranty covers the watch’s hands, dial, and movement.

For those involved with outdoor activities, this might be a problem. You can end up with a broken crystal or crown that isn’t covered in the company’s warranty program.

Also, getting a replacement or money back on those parts covered by the program is usually a pain in the neck.

Depreciation

Though Invicta watches are affordable, they lose most of their value the moment you buy them. This is partly due to the fact that the company releases lots of alternative models every year.

Watch collectors also complain that the watches have a market value range of $150 – $250. So paying for Invicta watches above that range doesn’t increase their value.

Customer Service

When you buy online, you need customer service to answer your questions when things go wrong. Many customers are and still express dissatisfaction with Invicta’s customer service.

A section of the customers expresses worries. They’ve purchased products from Invicta, even though the products are not available. Worst of all, it takes days for you to get a reply to the emails sent to customer service.

You can read some of these complaints on the bbb.org website. Invicta still has a long way to go with their customer service.[the_ad id=”1435″]

Should you buy Invicta watches?

Should you buy an Invicta watch? Here’s my take. Considering several factors, here’s my take about Invicta watches

If you are looking for a luxury brand that commands lots of respect, Invicta won’t be the brand to go for. There are some Swiss luxury watch brands you can go to. These include Omega, Rolex, Cartier, etc.

However, for persons with large wrists and a small budget, Invicta is your best bet. Most of their watches feature large case diameters, thick cases, and oversized crowns. Features common with men’s watches.

With these in mind, you should be able to decide whether to go for the brand.

FAQs

Where to buy Invicta watches?

Invicta has not only done a good job at keeping their watches affordable, they have good marketing channels too.

They have an online store where you can buy their watches and have them shipped to over 50 countries around the world. If watch details are your interest, you can check their website.

While it’s easy to get their watches on their online store, you can also buy discounted Invicta watches on Amazon. You can check out  Invicta watches for Men and Women on their website.

Does Invicta make smartwatches?

While the company designs and produces some fantastic looking watches, they are lacking in the smartwatch space.

At the moment of writing, Invicta doesn’t make smartwatches. This may change soon as the company keeps pushing its leaps and bounds.

Are Invicta watches good?

The reason you are reading this post is to answer this question. As you might have noticed,  Invicta timepieces are stylish and come with lots of features. All these for a fraction of the cost compared to other competitors. If this is your definition of what good watches mean, then yes Invicta makes good watches.

However, the quality of a watch is also a determining factor. In this domain, Invicta doesn’t deliver on quality compared to other Swiss watchmakers like Longines and Omega.

Though the company is a Swiss watchmaker, some of its watches lack the Swiss movement inside. This makes their watches fall in the pecking order when compared with top brands. Although these top brands end up with expensive watches.

Final Thoughts

With this guide, I hope you should be able to decide on this brand. Considering its merits, I recommend you use these watches as fallback watches. If you are a watch collector, it’s a good idea to have some Invicta watches in your collection

Finally, I recommend this brand if you want a cheap timepiece with all the bells and whistles. Please let me know in the comment section what you think about this brand.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
